About

We Turn Hope Into Action

Hope begins with the understanding that we don’t know what the future holds and within that uncertainty lies possibility. It invites us to act, not by offering guarantees, but by opening the door to what could be. Hope is not a substitute for action; it is the foundation that inspires it.

This is Hope On Water.

At Hope On Water, we explore HOW hope becomes action—HOW belief in a better future transforms into real opportunities, real change, and real impact.

Our Mission

Our Mission

Hope on Water’s mission is to improve life outcomes for historically marginalized communities by increasing access to the sport of rowing. We assist young rowers from diverse backgrounds in underserved communities, focusing on early exposure and quality programs that significantly impact academic achievement, career success, and overall well-being. Through our programming, mentorship, scholarships, and education, we foster an inclusive and supportive atmosphere where young athletes can thrive, achieve their maximum potential, and succeed in higher education. Our lifelong community of support unlocks the full potential of individuals and communities to prosper and thrive.

Our Approach

1. Access

We cover training fees, travel costs, and equipment needs so athletes from underrepresented communities can access elite rowing clubs and national camps—programs that are often financially out of reach without our support.

2. Opportunity

We connect athletes with Olympians, college coaches, and mentors who open doors to scholarships, national competitions, and life-changing experiences both on and off the water.

3. Support

HOW athletes receive personalized academic tutoring, mental health resources, and wellness plans tailored to their unique goals because we believe in nurturing the whole athlete, not just the rower.
